Jen Policky, Grief Support Facilitator

Jen Policky

If you've ever wanted evidence that our earliest memories are formative, you need look no further than Jen Policky.  Her first memory is of kittens crawling on her ... and thus began her lifelong love of animals.  Jen is currently the mom of two cats, Sero and Cin (named for Serotonin and Oxytocin!), but she has never been without pets of some kind in her life.  In her personal experience and in her career as a mental health professional, Jen sees time and again the important role that pets play in our lives - offering steadfast companionship and unconditional love through life's journey.

Jen's approach is holistic, compassionate, and client-centered. With a background in genomics, neuroscience, and physiology, she brings a unique perspective to the therapeutic process. Jen finds that focusing on the connection between the mind and body, supports our innate ability to heal and adapt.

With her deep appreciation for human-animal relationships, Jen is a perfect fit to facilitate BirchBark's weekly pet loss grief support sessions.  In both one-on-one and group meetings, Jen helps pet guardians navigate the pain of loss that is familiar to so many of us who have loved animals as family.
