Ready to get involved? Want to make a difference in the lives of animals and the community? Then volunteer with BirchBark Foundation!
BirchBark Foundation is the first of its kind in Central Coast region. While there are many wonderful animal aid groups in both Monterey and Santa Cruz, there are no other organizations that are singularly dedicated to saving the lives of pets that are already in loving homes, but whose families cannot pay for all or part of the care they need to survive. Our goal is to keep pets with their families—it’s the least we can do for the unconditional love and companionship they give so freely.

Tabling and Event Volunteers Needed for America’s 1st Annual PAWlitzer Prize™ for Best Dogged LITTERature
Come help at this fun event where 100% of proceeds are split between BirchBark Foundation and the SPCA for Monterey County.
Volunteers Needed: 3-4
Date: October 14th, 2017 - arrive @ 10 AM
We need volunteers to help make our events great for everybody, including our attendees, exhibitors, vendors and four-legged friends! We have a variety of opportunities available for volunteers to ensure our success. Some duties include: setup of tables, chairs, tents, and banners; setup of silent auction items; directing traffic and assisting with parking; cleanup activities; photography; social media blasts, and more.
We need volunteers to help us spread the word about BirchBark Foundation by tabling and providing information to the public. Tabling affords us the opportunity to connect with people, who otherwise wouldn't know about our work. This volunteer opportunity allows you to educate families about the resources available to them, if their beloved pet has a life-threatening issue (that has a good prognosis). It also provides a way to grow the donor base that supports our financial aid grants. The stronger that base of support, the better able we are to ensure funds are available to those who need it most. Keeping the public informed about our work and connecting BirchBark staff with potential donors are crucial to our success.
We are looking for experienced grant writers who are willing to write for local, state, federal and private grants. The grant writer would also request support from local and regional foundations.
