National Homeless Pets Day

BirchBark Foundation will have a booth at this years National Homeless Pets Day at From the Heart Dog Training!

The theme this year is Fiesta!

Saturday August 17th Noon - 4PM at From the Heart Dog Training (561 Brunken Ave in Salinas)

Please join us for a silent auction, candle lighting, adoptable dogs, information booths, blessing of the animals (with photographer), and much more. There will be a taco bar and enchilada lunch available for purchase.

Attending this year will be S.C.A.R., Salinas Animal Services, Peace of Mind Dog Rescue, Animal Cancer Center, BirchBark Foundation, BLM ranger, local vendors, and more. We hope to see you there!

All proceeds go to LOCAL animal organizations.


Scotts Valley Art, Wine and Beer Festival
Dog Day Sunday

BirchBark will have a table at this years’ Scotts Valley Art, Wine and Beer Festival on Dog Day Sunday!

Sunday August 18th from 10AM - 5PM at Skypark in Scotts Valley (361 Kings Village Road)

Over 100 Artists

Wine, Beer, Margaritas, and Mimosas

Live Music • Food Trucks • Classic Cars • Dog Show

The Scotts Valley Art, Wine & Beer Festival is a two-day event held in a beautiful open park setting on the expansive lawn at Skypark in Scotts Valley. In addition to the fine art, there is delicious cuisine, live music, a Kids Fun Zone and the area's most prestigious wineries and award-winning micro-breweries pouring their best. The festival dates are August 18th, 10am-6pm & August 19th, 10-5pm.

Paws in the Park

It's that time of year again! Join BirchBark Foundation, the Coastal Watershed Council, and WoofPack831 for a community dog walk along the San Lorenzo River.

The 4th Sunday of June - August at 10:00 AM, we will meet at the Gateway Plaza fitness area. The walk will loop across the pedestrian street bridge, down the east side of the Riverwalk, through San Lorenzo Park and back up the west side to the Plaza.

Don't forget to start your WoofTrax when you walk! BirchBark will receive donations as our group of walkers grows.

SEPTEMBER 2019 EVENTS

Fall in Love with BirchBark - Inaugural Gala

Be a part of BirchBark’s first annual gala! Join us on September 12th from 6 to 9 PM for our Fall In Love with BirchBark fundraiser which benefits low-income seniors, veterans, students and families whose pet has suffered a medical crisis.

Imagine what you would do if you didn’t have the resources to save your pet when faced with a fixable medical illness.

Our guests will enjoy a champagne reception with passed appetizers, a hosted bar and silent auction followed by a fabulous dinner with a selection of award-winning wines and a fun paddle raise. Popular auctioneer, Lisa Taylor with conduct a live auction where you can bid on exciting and unique “experiences”. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to fund local families and their pets during times of crisis.

All proceeds go directly towards helping people and their pets when faced with a medical emergency in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties. Financial hardship should never cause the loss of any family pet and you can help! Get your tickets early as there are limited tickets for this event and we expect to sell out early.

Cars and Coffee for a Cause

Santa Cruz Mustang Club will be hosting “Cars and Coffee for a Cause” in support of BirchBark! Join us on Sunday September 22 from 9:00-11:00AM at Cruise Coffee (75 Mt Hermon Rd, Scotts Valley).

There is a small car show, all cars are welcome and it is free! "Best in Show" will win an award with a couple of give-a-ways! Any size donation gets you 20% off your food and drinks at Cruise Coffee who has just about the best breakfast burrito around as well as roasting their own coffee!!
