9th Annual Days of Wine, Beer and Wet Noses

BirchBark will be at the 9th Annual Days of Wine, Beer and Wet Noses! Come visit us at our booth!

When: Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1 PM – 5 PM

Where: MacDorsa Park, 77 Civic Center Dr, Scotts Valley, California 95066

All proceeds benefit the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and Heading Home Animal Rescue of Santa Cruz.

Tickets at door only, sales begin and doors open at noon, cash/credit welcome throughout event:
$15 admission 21+
$10 ages 10-20
Nine and under free

Plenty of free parking!

Music: Sharon Allen & the Dusty Boots, Henry Chadwick Band, Blue Summit and a special acoustic performance by Vandoliers from Dallas! They will be performing their full show at Moe's Alley that night.

Beer: Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery
Wine: Skov Winery and Hallcrest Winery, including Santa Cruz Organic Hard Cider
Free cold water
Food: De la Colmena Market and Catering, Your Place Restaurant, Cowboy Bar & Grill and for added fun: Santa Cruz Shaved Ice

Important:
1. Dogs on leashes are welcome
2. Do bring: blankets, lawn chairs

Human Race: Walk for Change

BirchBark Foundation is participating in the Human Race for the fourth year in a row and we need your help! This is one fabulous community event you don't want to miss. Join us on race day to run, wheel, or walk for change and enjoy pre-race yoga, breakfast, live music along the 5-mile course, costumes, hula hoopers, face-painting, DJ’s and more.

Paws on the Monument

It's that time of year again! Join BirchBark Foundation and Ranger Tami from the Fort Ord BLM for a dog walk on the Fort Ord National Monument.

The 2nd Sunday of June - August at 9:00 AM, we will leave from the Badger Hills Trailhead entrance off Highway 68 across the street from Toro Park Cafe and hike up the “off leash” dog area loop.  This loop includes Guidotti Road up to Skyline Road and back to the parking lot. 

Please bring leashes, poop bags and plenty of water for you and your dogs.  You can turn back at any time if you don’t want to do the entire loop which is about 5 miles. 

Don't forget to start your WoofTrax when you walk! BirchBark will receive donations as our group of walkers grows.

The 4th Sunday of June - August at 10:00 AM, we will meet at the Gateway Plaza fitness area. The walk will loop across the pedestrian street bridge, down the east side of the Riverwalk, through San Lorenzo Park and back up the west side to the Plaza.

Don't forget to start your WoofTrax when you walk! BirchBark will receive donations as our group of walkers grows.

JULY 2019

Aptos 4th of July “Worlds Shortest Parade”

Come check out BirchBark in the parade and stay all day for the festivities!

Aptos’ 4th of July parade clocks in at 0.6 miles, but don’t let its brevity fool you.  This is a fun community parade that draws huge crowds each year.  Enjoy a pancake breakfast in the morning before the parade, and stick around for the Party in the Park, starting at noon in the Aptos Village Park.

The parade begins at intersection of State Park Dr & Soquel Dr and ends at the Trout Gulch & Soquel Dr intersection

Schedule of Festivities
Pancake Breakfast: 7-10am at burger.
Worlds Shortest Parade: 10am-12pm
Party in the Park: 12-4pm at Aptos Village Park

SEPTEMBER 2019

Fall in Love with BirchBark - Inaugural Gala

Be a part of BirchBark’s first annual gala! Join us on September 12th from 6 to 9 PM for our Fall In Love with BirchBark fundraiser which benefits low-income seniors, veterans, students and families whose pet has suffered a medical crisis.

Imagine what you would do if you didn’t have the resources to save your pet when faced with a fixable medical illness.

Our guests will enjoy a champagne reception with passed appetizers, a hosted bar and silent auction followed by a fabulous dinner with a selection of award-winning wines and a fun paddle raise. Popular auctioneer, Lisa Taylor with conduct a live auction where you can bid on exciting and unique “experiences”. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to fund local families and their pets during times of crisis.

All proceeds go directly towards helping people and their pets when faced with a medical emergency in Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties. Financial hardship should never cause the loss of any family pet and you can help! Get your tickets early as there are limited tickets for this event and we expect to sell out early.
