Julie Ann Lozano, Community outreach coordinator - monterey Co.

 

Julie Ann loves animals and until recently shared her home with three beloved Basset Hounds: Cody, Lucy and Scout.  She is currently an "empty nester" but gets daily puppy love from the dogs at MBS Business Systems where she works full-time as a Major Account and Community Advocate Manager.

Julie Ann has long history of community service serving on the Board of Directors of Meals of Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula for more than 20 years as well as Board Member and volunteer for the California International Airshow. She has also chaired Rio Grill’s Resolution Run, a New Year’s Day run that benefits a local non-profit for 26 years, served 3 6-year terms on the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce as their VP of Special Events and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of Special Events for the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Julie Ann has been recognized for her many years of community service. She was named “Outstanding Young Citizen” by the Jaycees in 1998, “Community Leader of the Year” by Leadership Monterey Peninsula in 2010. The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce honored her with the Robert C. Littlefield award for life-time achievement in 2002 and Volunteer of the Year in 2011. The California International Airshow named her their “Director of the Year” in 2010 and “Volunteer of the Year” in 2016. United Way of the Monterey Peninsula named Julia Ann, her co-chair of fundraisers and board members of Meals of the Monterey Peninsula as their “Partner Volunteers of the Year” in 2011.

In addition to BirchBark Foundation, Julie Ann currently volunteers for CSUMB’s Have a Heart for Students Dinner and Auction, Meals on Wheels of the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce and Legal Services for Seniors Ciao Cioppino!
